Duaa Supplication ' from the "Holy Quran"

Duaa' from the "Holy Quran"

Guide us to the Straight Way; The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (i.e. those whose intentions are perverted: they know the Truth, yet do not follow it), nor of those who went astray (i.e. those who have lost the (true) knowledge, so they wander in error, and are not guided to the Truth)

Al-Fātiḥah (6-7)

And (remember) when Ibrāhīm (Abraham) and (his son) Ismā‘īl (Ishmael) were raising the foundations of the House (the Ka‘bah in Makkah), (saying), “Our Lord! Accept (this service) from us. Verily, You are the All Hearer, the All Knower.”

Al-Baqarah (127)

And of them there are some who say: “Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!”

Al-Baqarah (201)

And when they advanced to meet Jālūt (Goliath) and his forces, they invoked: “Our Lord! Pour forth on us patience, and set firm our feet and make us victorious over the disbelieving people.”

Al-Baqarah (250)

Allāh burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has incurred. “Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error, our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on those before us (Jews and Christians); our Lord! Put not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Pardon us and grant us Forgiveness. Have mercy on us. You are our Maulā (Patron, Supporter and Protector, etc.) and give us victory over the disbelieving people”

Al-Baqarah (286)

(They say): “Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower.” “Our Lord! Verily, it is You Who will gather mankind together on the Day about which there is no doubt. Verily, Allāh never breaks His Promise”.

Al-Imran (8-9)

Those who say: “Our Lord! We have indeed believed, so forgive us our sins and save us from the punishment of the Fire.”

Al-Imran (16)

At that time Zakariyā (Zechariah) invoked his Lord, saying: “O my Lord! Grant me from You, a good offspring. You are indeed the All Hearer of invocation.”

Al-Imran (38)

Our Lord! We believe in what You have sent down, and we follow the Messenger [‘Īsā (Jesus)]; so write us down among those who bear witness (to the truth i.e. Lā ilāha illallāh — none has the right to be worshipped but Allāh).

Al-Imran (53)

And they said nothing but: “Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and our transgressions (in keeping our duties to You), establish our feet firmly, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk.”

Al-Imran (147)

Those (i.e. believers) to whom the people (hypocrites) said, “Verily, the people (pagans) have gathered against you (a great army), therefore, fear them.” But it (only) increased them in Faith, and they said: “Allāh (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)(1)”.

Al-Imran (173)

Those who remember Allāh (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): “Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose, glory to You! (Exalted are You above all that they associate with You as partners). Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire.

Al-Imran (191)

“Our Lord! Verily, whom You admit to the Fire, indeed, You have disgraced him; and never will the Ẓālimūn (polytheists and wrong doers) find any helpers.

Al-Imran (192)

“Our Lord! Verily, we have heard the call of one (Muḥammad peace be upon him) calling to Faith: ‘Believe in your Lord,’ and we have believed. Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and expiate from us our evil deeds, and make us die (in the state of righteousness) along with Al Abrār (the pious believers of Islamic Monotheism).

Al-Imran (193)

“Our Lord! Grant us what You promised to us through Your Messengers and disgrace us not on the Day of Resurrection, for You never break (Your) Promise.”

Al-Imran (194)

And what is wrong with you that you fight not in the Cause of Allāh, and for those weak, ill treated, and oppressed among men, women, and children, whose cry is: “Our Lord! Rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors; and raise for us, from You, one who will protect, and raise for us, from You, one who will help.”

An-Nisā (75)

‘Īsā (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), said: “O Allāh, our Lord! Send us from the heaven a table spread (with food) that there may be for us — for the first and the last of us — a festival and a sign from You; and provide us with sustenance, for You are the Best of sustainers.”.

Al-Mā’idah (114)

They said: “Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us Your Mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers.”

Al-A‘rāf (23)

“We would have invented a lie against Allāh if we returned to your religion, after Allāh has rescued us from it. And it is not for us to return to it unless Allāh, our Lord, should so will. Our Lord comprehends all things in His Knowledge. In Allāh (Alone) we put our trust. Our Lord! Judge between us and our people in truth, for You are the Best of those who give judgment.”

Al-A‘rāf (89)

“And you take vengeance on us only because we believed in the Āyāt (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) of our Lord when they reached us! Our Lord! pour out on us patience, and cause us to die as Muslims.”

Al-A‘rāf (126)

And when Mūsā (Moses) returned to his people, angry and grieved, he said: “What an evil thing is that which you have done (i.e. worshipping the calf) during my absence. Did you hasten and go ahead as regards the matter of your Lord (you left His worship)?” And he threw down the Tablets and seized his brother by (the hair of) his head and dragged him towards him. [Hārūn (Aaron)] said: “O son of my mother! Indeed the people judged me weak and were about to kill me, so make not the enemies rejoice over me, nor put me amongst the people who are Ẓālimūn (wrong doers).”

Al-A‘rāf (150)

Mūsā (Moses) said: “O my Lord! Forgive me and my brother, and admit us into Your Mercy, for you are the Most Merciful of those who show mercy.”

Al-A‘rāf (151)

And Mūsā (Moses) chose out of his people seventy (of the best) men for Our appointed time and place of meeting, and when they were seized with a violent earthquake, he said: “O my Lord, if it had been Your Will, You could have destroyed them and me before; would You destroy us for the deeds of the foolish ones among us? It is only Your Trial by which You lead astray whom You will, and keep guided whom You will. You are our Walī (Protector), so forgive us and have Mercy on us: for You are the Best of those who forgive.

Al-A‘rāf (155)

They said: “In Allāh we put our trust. Our Lord! Make us not a trial for the folk who are Ẓālimūn (polytheists and wrong doers) (i.e. do not make them overpower us).

“And save us by Your Mercy from the disbelieving folk.”

Yūnus (85 - 86)

“My Lord! You have indeed bestowed on me of the sovereignty, and taught me something of the interpretation of dreams — the (Only) Creator of the heavens and the earth! You are my Walī (Protector, Helper, Supporter, Guardian, God, Lord.) in this world and in the Hereafter. Cause me to die as a Muslim (the one submitting to Your Will), and join me with the righteous.”

Yūsuf (101)

“O my Lord! Make me one who performs Aṣ Ṣalāt (Iqāmat aṣ Ṣalāt), and (also) from my offspring, our Lord! And accept my invocation.

Ibrāhīm (40)

“Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents, and (all) the believers on the Day when the reckoning will be established.”

Ibrāhīm (41)

And lower to them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say: “My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was young.”

Al-Isrā’(24)

And say (O Muḥammad): My Lord! Let my entry (to the city of Al Madinah) be good, and (likewise) my exit (from the city of Makkah) be good. And grant me from You an authority to help me (or a firm sign or a proof).

Al-Isrā’(80)

(Remember) when the young men fled for refuge (from their disbelieving folk) to the Cave. They said: “Our Lord! Bestow on us mercy from Yourself, and facilitate for us our affair in the right way!”

Al-Kahf (10)

[Mūsā (Moses)] said: “O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self confidence, contentment, and boldness).

“And ease my task for me;

“And loosen the knot (the defect) from my tongue, (i.e. remove the incorrectness from my speech) [That occurred as a result of a brand of fire which Mūsā (Moses) put in his mouth when he was an infant]. (Tafsīr Aṭ Ṭabarī)

“That they understand my speech.

Ṭā-Hā (25 - 28)

Then High above all be Allāh, the True King. And be not in haste (O Muḥammad) with the Qur’ān before its revelation is completed to you, and say: “My Lord! Increase me in knowledge.”

Ṭā-Hā (114)

And (remember) Ayyūb (Job), when he cried to his Lord: “Verily, distress has seized me, and You are the Most Merciful of all those who show mercy.”.

Al-Anbiyā’ (83)

And (remember) Dhun Nūn [Yūnus (Jonah)], when he went off in anger, and imagined that We shall not punish him (i.e. the calamities which had befallen him)! But he cried through the darkness (saying): Lā ilāha illā Anta [none has the right to be worshipped but You (O, Allāh)], Glorified (and Exalted) are You [above all that (evil) they associate with You]! Truly, I have been of the wrong doers.”

Al-Anbiyā’ (87)

And (remember) Zakariyyā (Zechariah), when he cried to his Lord: “O My Lord! Leave me not single (childless), though You are the Best of the inheritors.”

Al-Anbiyā’ (89)

And say: “My Lord! Cause me to land at a blessed landing place, for You are the Best of those who bring to land.”

Al-Mu’minūn (29)

And say: “My Lord! I seek refuge with You from the whisperings (suggestions) of the Shayāṭīn (devils). “And I seek refuge with You, My Lord! lest they should come near me.”

Al-Mu’minūn (97 - 98)

Verily, there was a party of My slaves, who used to say: “Our Lord! We believe, so forgive us, and have mercy on us, for You are the Best of all who show mercy!”

Al-Mu’minūn (109)

And say (O Muḥammad): “My Lord! Forgive and have mercy, for You are the Best of those who show mercy!”

Al-Mu’minūn (118)

And those who say: “Our Lord! Avert from us the torment of Hell. Verily, its torment is ever an inseparable, permanent punishment.” Evil indeed it (Hell) is as an abode and as a place to rest in.

Al-Furqān (65 -66)

And those who say: “Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders of the Muttaqūn)

Al-Furqān (74)

And grant me an honourable mention in later generations. And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight.

Ash-Shu‘arā’ (84 - 85)

And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected. The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, Except him who comes to Allāh with a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifāq (hypocrisy)].”

Ash-Shu‘arā’ (87 - 89)

He said: “My Lord! Verily, I have wronged myself, so forgive me.” Then He forgave him. Verily, He is the Oft Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

Al-Qaṣaṣ (16)

So he escaped from there, looking about in a state of fear. He said: “My Lord! Save me from the people who are Ẓālimūn (polytheists and wrong doers)!”

Al-Qaṣaṣ (21)

So he watered (their flocks) for them, then he turned back to shade, and said: “My Lord! Truly, I am in need of whatever good that You bestow on me!”

Al-Qaṣaṣ (24)

He said: “My Lord! Give me victory over the people who are Mufsidūn (those who commit great crimes and sins, oppressors, tyrants, mischief makers, corrupters).

Al-‘Ankabūt (30)

“My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous.”

Aṣ-Ṣāffāt  (100)

Those (angels) who bear the Throne (of Allāh) and those around it glorify the praises of their Lord, and believe in Him, and ask forgiveness for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allāh) (saying): “Our Lord! You comprehend all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who repent and follow Your Way, and save them from the torment of the blazing Fire!

Ghāfir (7)

“Our Lord! And make them enter the ‘Adn (Eden) Paradise (everlasting Gardens) which You have promised them — and the righteous among their fathers, their wives, and their offspring! Verily, You are the All Mighty, the All Wise.

“And save them from (the punishment for what they did of) the sins, and whomsoever You save from (the punishment for what he did of) the sins (i.e. pardon him) that Day, him verily, You have taken into mercy.” And that is the supreme success.

Ghāfir (8 - 9)

(They will say): “Our Lord! Remove the torment from us, really we shall become believers!”

Ad-Dukhān (12)

And We have enjoined on man to be dutiful and kind to his parents. His mother bears him with hardship. And she brings him forth with hardship, and the bearing of him, and the weaning of him is thirty months, till when he attains full strength and reaches forty years, he says: “My Lord! Grant me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds, such as please You, and make my offspring good. Truly, I have turned to You in repentance, and truly, I am one of the Muslims (submitting to Your Will).”

Al-Aḥqāf (15)

And those who came after them say: “Our Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who have preceded us in Faith, and put not in our hearts any hatred against those who have believed. Our Lord! You are indeed full of kindness, Most Merciful.

Al-Ḥashr (10)

Indeed, there has been an excellent example for you in Ibrāhīm (Abraham) and those with him, when they said to their people: “Verily, we are free from you and whatever you worship besides Allāh: we have rejected you, and there has appeared between us and you hostility and hatred forever until you believe in Allāh Alone” — except the saying of Ibrāhīm (Abraham) to his father: “Verily, I will ask forgiveness (from Allāh) for you, but I have no power to do anything for you before Allāh”. “Our Lord! In You (Alone) we put our trust, and to You (Alone) we turn in repentance, and to You (Alone) is (our) final Return.

Al-Mumtaḥanah (4)

“Our Lord! Make us not a trial for the disbelievers, and forgive us, Our Lord! Verily, You, only You, are the All Mighty, the All Wise.”

Al-Mumtaḥanah (5)

O you who believe! Turn to Allāh with sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will expiate from you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise) — the Day that Allāh will not disgrace the Prophet (Muḥammad) and those who believe with him. Their Light will run forward before them and (with their Records — Books of deeds) in their right hands. They will say: “Our Lord! Keep perfect our Light for us [and do not put it off till we cross over the Ṣirāt (a slippery bridge over the Hell) safely] and grant us forgiveness. Verily, You are Able to do all things”

At-Taḥrīm (8)

And Maryam (Mary), the daughter of ‘Imrān who guarded her chastity. And We breathed into (the sleeve of her shirt or her garment) through Our Rūḥ [i.e. Jibrā’īl (Gabriel)(1)], and she testified to the truth of the Words of her Lord [i.e. believed in the Words of Allāh: “Be!”— and he was; that is ‘Īsā (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary) as a Messenger of Allāh], and (also believed in) His Scriptures, and she was of the Qānitūn (i.e. obedient to Allāh)

At-Taḥrīm (11)

“My Lord! Forgive me, and my parents, and him who enters my home as a believer, and all the believing men and women. And to the Ẓālimūn (polytheists, wrong doers, and disbelievers) grant You no increase but destruction!”
